Editorial policy

Our review checklist

We review every submission before it is published. We check that:

• The website loads, uses HTTPS and works on a phone.
• The business or organisation operates in New Zealand.
• The site shows a real way to make contact, such as an email, phone number or address.
• The description matches what the website actually offers.
• The content is not spam, copied, misleading, adult, gambling or illegal.

Verified badge

Verified and higher plans get an extra check. We confirm the business against public New Zealand sources, such as the NZ Companies Office or NZBN register, or a matching business email domain. The badge means we confirmed the business exists. It is not a review of the quality of its work.

Paid placement

Paid plans change where a listing appears and what it can show. They never change whether a listing is approved. Paid listings are labelled, and links from them carry rel="sponsored". Links from free listings carry rel="ugc".

Review dates and removals

Each profile shows the date we last reviewed it. We recheck listings regularly and remove sites that go offline, change ownership or no longer meet this policy.

Corrections

If a listing is wrong, email hello@gopher.co.nz with the page link. We aim to respond within two working days.
